June is Men's Health Month
Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Alright, gentlemen, it’s finally here – men’s health month! June is all about you taking some time to assess your physical, mental, and emotional health. Perhaps you’ve been busy this year focusing on your family’s needs, or your career, and maybe you’ve neglected to care for YOU. It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily stresses of life and just give into unhealthy routines. We’ve all been there.
Well, now you get to be a little selfish and engage in activities that will keep your mind and body healthy. Take extra time this month, every week, and do something healthy for yourself. We often have this stereotype in America that perhaps counseling, meditation, massage, or any of the self-care activities that women engage in don’t fit the “masculine” image. Men are supposed to suck it up and push on with life. Don’t complain. Don’t ask for help. Well, keep believing in that if you want. It’s only going to hurt you down the road.
Or you can decide to take control and choose to live a healthier life. If you’re depressed and it’s starting to scare you, reach out to a mental health professional and talk it out. If you’re over-stressed at home or work, come up with a game plan to delegate some of your tasks away or stop taking on so damn much! Get out into nature this month and walk, ride a bike, swim, or do whatever will get you moving and your mind away from stress. Book a session for massage, halotherapy, yoga, reiki, acupuncture, or any of the other alternative health practices that are designed to make you feel mentally and physically healthier. Check your diet, and if you haven’t had a salad in a while – maybe that’s a good place to start.
Good luck men!
