A Quick Reminder Of The Benefits Of Halotherapy

As we get ready to reopen Salted Desert, I thought I would provide a brief overview of the benefits of halotherapy. First off, halotherapy is drug-free, non-invasive, and uses 100% pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride (salt). You never have to worry about side effects or getting poked by needles. If you can tolerate a day by the ocean, breathing in the salted air, then you’ll have no problem with halotherapy.

Halotherapy is not a “new” type of treatment. It may be new to America, but the therapy has been around in Europe for decades. In fact, the principles of halotherapy are based on the therapeutic effects of the natural salt caves in Poland. As far back as the 1800s, a Polish physician took note of the overall good respiratory health of salt miners.

When the micronized particles of salt enter the respiratory passages, they attract moisture and trap pathogens, like bacteria and viruses. This process makes it easier to thin out mucus and clear your lungs. You’ll breathe better and have more energy. It’s great for people with asthma, COPD, allergies, and sinusitis – just to name a few. In addition, salt has healing properties for the skin. Many ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians and Greeks, have touted the benefits of salt for the healing of wounds and chronic skin conditions.

On behalf of Jen and me, we look forward to again offering this wonderful therapy to the Phoenix metro area. A big thank you to all of our previous members and clients. We can’t wait to see you again!
